The British tour company Jet2holidays announced its goal to strengthen its leadership in Costa del Sol; one of the most popular locations for British tourists in Spain.
Strengthening the strategies
Jet2holidays´ CEO Steve Heapy shared the company´s aims at an event in collaboration with World2Meet; the travel division of the Iberostar Group, at the Estival Torrequebrada Hotel in Malaga.
The CEO spoke before more than 100 key figures in the hotel industry, stating; Jet.2com and Jet2holidays want to continue to expand our operations in Spain, a key destination in our strategic development for the coming years and where we have an excellent relationship with hotel professionals.
Heapy also emphasised the company´s latest developments in sustainability; Our commitment is strong. We have acquired new aircraft that consume less fuel, have greater capacity and are less noisy, reaffirming our commitment to a greener and more efficient future.
The CEO of W2M, Gabriel Subias, in his place, responded; At W2M we are firmly committed to accompanying Jet2holidays, the number one package tour operator in the UK, in its development, making available our extensive experience in destination services, which is fully aligned with Jet2holidays´ strategy.
UK to Spain
Jet2holidays´ CEO shared the latest news; We are excited about the opening of new airport bases in Liverpool and Bournemouth, allowing us to reach a total of 75 per cent of the population within a 90-minute drive of each of our bases.
With such developments, the Costa del Sol region can expect to greet even more British tourists who continue to regularly visit the coast. As reported by the president of the Malaga Provincial Council and Costa del Sol Tourism, Francisco Salado, recent data revealed that 821,907 tourists from the UK came to Costa del Sol between January and August 2023; even more are expected this year.
